Dr Christian Balanza MBBS FRANZCP
Dr Christian Balanza is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist. His interests are wide and varied and include depressive disorders, anxiety spectrum disorders, bipolar disorders, psychosis, autistic spectrum disorders, adult ADHD, personality disorders and complex trauma. He subspecialises in psychodynamic psychotherapy and is available to see patients aged 17 and above.
Bob Tsapilis MAPS Clinical Psychologist.
Bob is an experienced psychologist, who is available for individual and couples therapy. He employs a range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behaviour therapy, cognitive schema therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness and solution focused therapy. Other approaches include cognitive analytic therapy and object relations therapy. Bob sees patients aged 15 and above.
Irina Petrova BPsych, MPsych (Clin), MAPS, Psychologist.
Irina is a registered psychologist and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and enjoys working with adults as well as older adolescents. She has experience in assisting clients with a variety of challenges, including complex and chronic mental health difficulties. Her interests lie in the areas of trauma, complex trauma, personality disorders, as well as the spectrum of anxiety disorders. She has a special interest in working with women and men who have survived traumatic experiences, and she also works extensively with migrants. In her treatment, she utilises a blend of various of therapeutic approaches to suit each person. She draws on cognitive behavioural therapy for brief interventions, as well as on schema therapy and psychodynamic ideas for longer term treatment. She is also fluent in the Russian language. Irina is available for individuals aged 18 and above.
Julia Conte BSc, MPsych (Clin), MAPS, Clinical Psychologist
Julia is a Clinical Psychologist and has worked in private practice, child and adolescent mental health, community mental health and drug and alcohol hospital settings since 1997. Julia’s speciality areas include child and adolescent mental health, working with toddlers and pre-schoolers, school age children and adolescents with a wide range of emotional, relational and behavioural difficulties. She has extensive training in systemic family therapy, attachment therapy (Circle of Security Attachment Model) and interpersonal psychotherapy. She also specialises in the treatment of various forms of trauma including complex childhood trauma, critical traumatic incidents, PTSD and other associated mental health difficulties such as mood and anxiety related disorders. Julia is a Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and is a WorkCover approved Psychologist.
Liz Cinat BPsych(Hons) Psychologist
Liz is a qualified psychologist with 10 years experience in the treatment of mental health issues and general counselling. She has helped individuals from adolescence through to late adulthood to get through challenging periods in their lives.
Liz can provide both short term treatment and counselling for individuals with less complex needs, and longer term counselling for individuals with more complex needs. She has a particular interest in providing therapy to clients who have experienced trauma.
Liz has had training in diverse theories and techniques. She draws from frameworks such as CBT, systems theory, and psychoanalytic theory to provide treatment and counselling which can assist diverse client presentations.
